Cyber hygiene, done with you

In-person sessions around Auckland and video calls NZ-wide. We set it up properly while you watch, so it is finished when we leave.

These services are available in New Zealand only, in person around Auckland and by video call elsewhere in the country. Everything else on this site — every tool, guide and article — stays free and open to anyone, anywhere, and always will.

What we do

Most cyber security advice tells you what to do and leaves you to do it. These sessions are the opposite: we turn up, we sit down with you, and it is done before we leave. No homework, no report telling you to action items, no jargon.

  • Turning on two-factor authentication for your emailfree
  • Setting up a password managerfree
  • Agreeing a family check wordfree
  • Every guide and tool on this websitefree
  • Someone turning up and doing the lot with you$390
  • The call from your bank that never comesworth the lot

Everything on this page is something you can do yourself, for nothing, using the guides on this site. You are paying for it to be finished rather than explained.

All prices exclude GST. Sessions run in person around Auckland. Four services, kept deliberately short — these are the ones that prevent the most harm for the least fuss.

Digital Spring Clean: 25% off with a SuperGold Card

The Spring Clean is the session most older New Zealanders actually need, so it is the one with a discount attached. Show a SuperGold Card and it drops from $250 to $188. No forms, no application — just mention it when you get in touch.

The reason is straightforward. Older people are targeted harder than anyone else and lose more when it works, because the scams aimed at them run on a phone call and a manufactured emergency rather than a dodgy link. They are also the group most likely to decide the help is not worth the money, which is exactly the wrong outcome.

  • Applies to the Digital Spring Clean. The other three sessions are business services and stay at their listed price.
  • One card in the household is enough — the whole session is discounted.
  • Community groups, retirement villages and clubs: ask about a group session, which works out cheaper again per person.

If cost is still the thing stopping you, say so when you email. We would rather do a session at a price that works than have somebody go without and lose a great deal more later.

Cyber Hygiene Warrant of Fitness

$39060–90 minutes, then once a year

A 20-point check of your business's digital basics, done in person. We work through each point together, fix what can be fixed on the spot, and you get a dated certificate showing what passed. Anything that needs more work goes on a short list with what it costs and how long it takes. We book you in again next year.

  • Two-factor authentication switched on for your email and banking
  • Password manager installed and your main accounts moved across
  • Invoice fraud verification rule written down and put somewhere visible
  • Backups checked — and a test restore, because an untested backup is a guess
  • Laptops and phones locked down: screen lock, disk encryption, automatic updates
  • Your staff email addresses checked against known data breaches
  • Dated certificate and a printed summary of everything that changed

Sole Trader & Small Trade Package

$450About 90 minutes, one-off

Built for people running a business out of a van, a shed or a spare room. If you email invoices, you are a target for payment redirection fraud, and that is the single biggest cause of loss for businesses your size. This session closes that gap and the handful of others that actually matter.

  • Business email secured properly — this is the one that matters most
  • Invoice verification rule set up so a fake bank-detail change cannot get through
  • Password manager installed on your phone and laptop
  • Devices encrypted and set to update themselves
  • Backup sorted for your quotes, invoices and job records
  • A one-page card of what to do if something looks wrong

Digital Spring Clean

$250About 2 hours, yearly

Two hours clearing out what has built up. Old accounts you forgot you had are the ones that get breached, and every one of them is holding your details.

  • Dormant accounts found and closed
  • App permissions reviewed and anything unnecessary revoked
  • Passports, licences and bank statements taken out of your inbox
  • Photos of documents removed from your phone
  • Connected apps and old device sessions signed out
  • Breach check on every email address you use

Device Wipe & Check

$90About 30 minutes

Selling a phone or laptop, or buying a second-hand one. Either a verified wipe so nothing of yours goes with it, or a check that what you have bought is clean before you sign into anything.

  • Verified secure wipe with written confirmation
  • Or: a check of a second-hand device before you use it
  • Accounts properly removed so the device is not locked to you

How this fits with the free side of the site

Everything we do in these sessions is explained for free elsewhere on this site, and you are genuinely welcome to work through it yourself — start with securing your email account and the password manager guide. Nothing is held back.

What people pay for is having it done, properly, in one sitting, by someone who has done it many times. The advice stays free because most people will never book anything, and they should still be able to protect themselves.

We do not advertise these services inside our articles, and paying customers get no different advice from what is published here.

What we will not do

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer a discount for older people?

Yes. SuperGold Card holders get 25% off the Digital Spring Clean, bringing it to $188. That is the session most older people actually need; the other three are business services and stay at their listed price. One card in the household is enough. If cost is still the barrier, say so when you email.

Where do you operate?

In person around Auckland, and by video call anywhere in New Zealand where the work suits it. Travel outside Auckland is quoted separately. These services are not available outside New Zealand, though every tool and guide on this site is free worldwide.

Do I need to know anything about computers?

No. That is the point. We work on your devices with you, explain what we are doing in plain English, and leave you a printed summary of what changed.

Will you ask me for my passwords?

Never. You type your own passwords on your own devices. If you would rather turn the screen away while you do it, that is completely fine and we will suggest it.

What happens to my information after a session?

We keep your contact details and a short record of what was done, so we can help if you call back and so we can remind you when a yearly check is due. We do not keep passwords, account details or copies of your data.

Can you get my money back if I have been scammed?

No, and nobody legitimate offers that for an upfront fee — anyone who does is running the second half of the same scam. Our Report a Scam page sets out what to do and who to contact, in the order that matters.

Is the free advice on this site different from what paying customers get?

No. It is the same advice. Customers are paying for it to be done rather than explained.
