PRIVACY POLICY

Your privacy, in plain English

This page explains exactly what we do and don't collect — no legal jargon, no hidden surprises.

Last updated: 12/09/2026

The short version

Every tool on this site — the password checker, passphrase generator, phishing email checker, QR code checker, and quizzes — runs entirely in your browser. Whatever you type or upload into those tools is never sent to us, never stored, and never leaves your device. You can disconnect from the internet after any tool page loads and it will keep working, which proves nothing is being transmitted.

The site does use a small number of third-party services (listed in full below) for advertising, basic visitor statistics, and an optional kids' game leaderboard. None of them are given your name, email address, or any personally identifying information by us.

What we never collect

Third-party services we use

These are the only outside services connected to this site. Each one is standard, widely used, and limited to the purpose described.

Google AdSense
Displays the ads that keep this site free. Google AdSense may use cookies to show relevant ads and measure ad performance. See Google's ad privacy policy for detail on how Google handles this.
Google Analytics
Provides anonymous, aggregate visitor statistics (like which pages are popular) so we know the site is actually helping people. It does not identify you personally.
Google Translate
Only activated if you choose a non-English country from the language selector. When used, the visible page content is sent to Google to be translated. This only happens if you actively select a language — it's off by default.
Cloudflare
Hosts this website and its leaderboard feature. Cloudflare may log standard technical data (like IP address) for security and performance, as any web host does.

Kids' game leaderboards

The Kids Zone games (Scam or Safe?, Whack-a-Scam, Safety Runner) include an optional leaderboard. To appear on it, a player types a nickname of their choosing — never a real name or any personal detail — which is stored along with their score. Nicknames are automatically checked against a filter to block inappropriate entries. No other information is collected from children, and the leaderboard is entirely optional — the games work fully without ever entering a name.

How advertising on this site works

This site is free because it carries advertising served by Google. Google and its partners act as third-party vendors on this site, and you should know the following:

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, advertising and analytics cookies are not set until you choose Accept on the consent banner. Choosing Decline leaves them off, and every tool on this site continues to work exactly the same way.

Children's privacy and advertising

The Kids Zone, Whack-a-Scam and Safety Runner pages are treated as child-directed. On those pages we request non-personalised ads only and tag ad requests for child-directed treatment, so no interest-based or remarketing advertising is used there, and no advertising profile is built from a child's visit.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The games need no sign-up, no email address and no real name. The optional leaderboard stores a self-chosen nickname and a score, filtered for inappropriate entries, and nothing else. A child can play every game fully without entering anything at all. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices and rights

Cookies

This site uses cookies only for the purposes described above: displaying ads (Google AdSense), anonymous visitor statistics (Google Analytics), and remembering your selected country/language (stored locally in your browser, not sent to us). You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings without affecting your ability to use any tool on this site.

Children's privacy

Parts of this site are designed for children, and we take that seriously. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The Kids Zone requires no sign-up, no email, and no real name — only an optional, self-chosen nickname for the leaderboard, as described above.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. We won't make changes that reduce your privacy without making that clear here.
